This year Christmas I want to try streaming Christmas pudding for one of the Christmas gathering. Most of the Christmas pudding contains suet. I did not make an effort to find it, so this recipe will replace suet with cold butter. One of my friends can't consume alcohol, so this recipe also can't have brandy.
It's so exciting to think that Christmas is now less than 10 days away. Sure, I love presents just like everyone else, but I'm really looking forward to the hugs and cuddles, hot cocoa and pj's and comfort that Christmas morning brings.

The chayote fruit is used in mostly cooked forms. When cooked, chayote is usually handled like summer squash, it is generally lightly cooked to retain the crisp flavor. Though rare and often regarded as especially unpalatable and tough in texture, raw chayote may be added to salads or salsas, most often marinated with lemon or lime juice.
Okra known in many English-speaking countries as lady's fingers, bhindi or gumbo, is a flowering plant in the mallow family. It is valued for its edible green seed pods.
Praline can refer to confections made from nuts and sugar syrup, whether in whole pieces or a ground powder, or to any chocolate cookie containing the ground powder or nuts. Belgian pralines are different; they consist of a hard chocolate shell with a softer, sometimes liquid, filling. French pralines are a combination of almonds and caramelized sugar. American pralines also contain milk or cream and are therefore softer and creamier, resembling fudge.
Suet is raw beef or mutton fat, especially the hard fat found around the loins and kidneys.
Bavarois is similar to pastry cream but thickened with gelatin instead of flour or cornstarch, and flavoured with liqueur.
Parfait is a French word literally meaning "perfect" commonly employed to describe a kind of frozen dessert, beginning in 1894. In France, parfait refers to a frozen dessert made from a base of sugar syrup, egg, and cream.
